Johnson & Johnson is expanding COVID-19 vaccine trials, planning to test its vaccine on a small number of 16- and 17-year-olds before enrolling adolescents over the age of 12. They’ll check for side effects and immune responses in both single and two-dose levels.

And, in a critical development in the fight against the spread of coronavirus variants, Hackensack Meridian Health’s Center for Discovery and Innovation has developed a rapid test that can detect multiple variants. According to the center, the test identifies the known Brazil, South African and UK variants among others.
